A fire caused extensive damage to a home on Ladysmith Drive in St. John’s. Neighbours spotted smoke coming from the rear of the bungalow around 4 p.m. and called 911. Superintendent Robert Fowler with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, says there was no one in the upstairs unit of the home at the time, and the downstairs tenants escaped without injury.
