Very interesting investigative report from University of King’s College journalism students into the double standard of fire protection offered to taxpayers of the rural areas of Halifax Regional Municipality. It is sad to note that some parts of THIS province have no fire protection available as was demonstrated on the west coast recently.

An exclusive King’s analysis of Halifax Regional Municipality’s fire response database shows that most of the time, firefighters can get to dwellings in the urban core fast enough to have a chance at saving them. Beyond that, you might need luck, or your garden hose.
