Two homes were destroyed in separate weekend fires in St. John’s. One man, the only occupant of a two-storey home on Southside Road, was sent to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a fire yesterday around 4:30 p.m.
Earlier Sunday, around 7 a.m., a kitchen fire caused extensive damage to a home on Montague Street. A family of three were able to get out safely.
