There were no injuries in a house fire on Thorburn Road early this morning, but the home itself was extensively damaged.

Firefighters from at least three stations of St. John’s Regional responded to the blaze which, according to callers to the VOCM Newsroom, was intense.

Acting Superintendent Tony Renouf says crews had the fire under control within a matter of minutes. A crew with Newfoundland Power was called in to cut electricity to the home.
